About Don Bosco Technical Institute (DBTI)
Bosco Samajik Vikas Sanstha (BSVS) is a non-profitable development organisation registered as a Society under societies registration act 1860. The society is active in the tribal areas of district Palghar in Maharashtra. BSVS has carried out Participatory Strategic Planning (PSP) process in the tribal blocks of Palghar district to understand the special needs of the target community. Lack of employable skills among the youth was one of the major issues identified by the organization. As a response to this situation, Don Bosco Technical Institute (DBTI) was set up in October 2010 to cater to school dropout youth from poor households. DBTI presently conducts many non-formal technical training courses, which is spread over one to six months, divided into modules.
DBTI imparting wide range of technical skills to youth from disadvangaged community. The purpose of DBTI is to reachout to the dropout youth and provide quality industrial specific training in technical skills so that they are gainfully employed in the industries.
DBTI has been very successful in establishing linkages with several Indian companies and placement agencies for the forward linkages of the youth trained in our institute. DBTI has conducted industrial survey to identify the job requirements in e nearby cities like Thane, Nasik, Kalyan, Palghar, Dhanu, Mumbai etc. We offer technical education to disadvantaged youngsters who have had to drop out from schools. Technical terminology is simplified and explained to them in a language that they can easily understand. DBTI provides hostel facility for this youth in the campus.
COURSES:
1. Two-wheeler & Three-wheeler Mechanic
A Two-wheeler & Three-wheeler Mechanics are trained in Basic Automotive Servicing, Repair & Overhauling of 2-wheelers (moped, scooter, motorbike) and Repair & Overhauling of 3-wheelers.
2. Electrician
Electrician students are trained in repair of home appliance, house wiring and control of AC/DC Motors, Repair of Electrical Power Tools.
3. Fabrication (Welding)
Fabrication students are trained in basic welding (GAS & Arc), Gas cutting, MIG, TIG &CO2 Welding, etc.
4. Automobile – Four-wheeler
Four-wheeler students are trained in basic Automotive Servicing, Repair & Overhauling of four wheelers are taught to the students.
5. Electric Vehicle – E-Mobility
EV students are trained in Electric Vehicle, Retrofitting, Assembling and Repairing. They work on 2, 3 and 4 wheelers.
All the course are NSDC certified.
