Bosco Samajik Vikas Sanstha (BSVS), Walvanda celebrated the feast of St. Dominic Savio on the 6th July 2024 along with the ITI students and the oratory children to honour the young saint known for his unwavering faith and dedication to serving others. The day was marked by Eucharistic celebrations in the morning for the community, inspiring assembly with the ITI students and a wonderful inauguration of a new oratory, all emphasizing the enduring spirit of youth and holiness.
Bosco Samajik Vikas Sanstha (BSVS), Walvanda, along with Isabel Martin Foundation, Spain, conducted an evaluation on the Women Empowerment and Livelihood Project from 23 to 25 March 2023. BSVS has collaborated with the Foundation for a period of six years from 2017-2023.
Bosco Samajik Vikas Sanstha (BSVS) organized a festive celebration for the children part of the Supportive Education and Empowerment Programme (SEEP) on 5 March 2023.
SEEP is an important intervention of BSVS to improve the quality of education among the tribal children in Jawhar and Mokhada blocks of Palghar district. This programme is implemented in collaboration with BoscoNet, New Delhi. A total of 934 primary school children attend two hours of classes in the 32 SEEP centres set up by BSVS.
30 supportive classes for the school children attending Classes I to V are being conducted in the villages of Jawhar and Mokhada blocks of Palghar district by Bosco Samajik Vikas Sanstha (BSVS), Walvanda. This project is financially supported by BoscoNet, New Delhi.
A five day residential workshop for the teachers of the Supportive Education and Empowerment Programme (SEEP) was conducted in Bosco Samajik Vikas Sanstha (BSVS), Walvanda, from 14 to 18 September 2022.
30 local youth were selected by BSVS to conduct remedial education classes daily for the primary school children in 30 villages. The residential workshop was conducted to prepare these youth to teach effectively. Read More
On 18 August 2022, a workshop was conducted for the staff members of Bosco Samajik Vikas Sanstha (BSVS), Walvanda, on organic farming and its benefits. A total of 25 participants were present for this training.
The workshop was inaugurated by Fr Anaclete D’Mello, the Rector of BSVS, Walvanda. He encouraged the staff to concentrate more on organic farming, healthy lifestyle and toxic-free food by the use of toxic-free organic composts for farming. Read More
Mission Orientation at DB Walvanda
On 2 July 2022, the brothers of Divyadaan, Nashik, visited the Bosco Samajik Vikas Sanstha, Walvanda, for an orientation programme. They will be helping in conducting Math and English classes in 8 Ashram schools in Mokhada and Jawhar Talukas.
Mr Prakash Wagh, the project coordinator, associated with BSVS for over 15 years, coordinated a session for the brothers with the help of the staff and the community of BSVS.
